Semiconductor Trade Missions and Webinars

In collaboration with industry leaders and stakeholders, the Trade Programs Branch of Ontario's Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade is set to launch semiconductor-focused webinars and trade missions to Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the United States. The goal is to strengthen Ontario’s semiconductor capabilities and integrate them into a cohesive global supply chain.

Date - May 8, 2025

The Government of Ontario, in partnership with the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei, will host an exclusive webinar showcasing Taiwan’s thriving semiconductor industry, previewing SEMICON Taiwan 2025, and promoting a trade mission opportunity to the region’s premier microelectronics event taking place this September in Taipei. This webinar will help to understand Taiwan’s semiconductor sector and opportunities for foreign companies, discover what’s new at SEMICON Taiwan 2025, learn about services and support offered by Canada’s Trade Commissioner Service and the Government of Ontario, and obtain information on the 2025 Ontario Technology Mission to SEMICON Taiwan.

Location - Munich, Germany 

Laser World of Photonics is the world’s leading trade fair for photonics components, systems, and applications, held biennially in Munich, Germany. The event showcases innovations in lasers, optics, sensors, and imaging, making it a central hub for the photonics industry. World of Quantum is a key event held alongside Laser World of Photonics, focusing on quantum technologies. The 2023 event attracted about 9,000 visitors and featured 75 exhibitors. This event is vital for those in the quantum technology sector, providing a space for networking, collaboration, and discovering the latest trends in quantum research and real-world applications. At World of Quantum, Ontario will have a satellite pavilion in Hall A1, located near the main Laser World of Photonics pavilion in Hall A2.

Date - September 8-12, 2025
Location - Taipei, Taiwan

The Government of Ontario, in collaboration with the Canadian Trade Office in Taiwan, is organizing a technology export business mission for Ontario companies in the semiconductor sector to participate in the 2025 SEMICON Taiwan event. SEMICON Taiwan is heavily focused on key themes that drive the industry trends such as Smart Manufacturing, Materials Innovation, Quantum, Smart Mobility, Auto Chips, Semiconductor Cybersecurity etc. 2024 SEMICON Taiwan attracted over 1,100 exhibitors including 12 country pavilions and 85,000 visitors from 50+ countries, a significant 30% increase compared with last year. The mission program will include a pre-mission webinar, 1:1 market/export advice, market and sector briefing, individual exhibition counter in the Ontario Pavilion at SEMICON Taiwan, B2B meetings and networking events.

Date - October 7-9, 2025
Location - Phoenix, Arizona, USA

The Government of Ontario is leading a semiconductors trade mission comprised of up to 8 companies to attend and exhibit at SEMICON WEST 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona. Semicon West is the set to be the premier semiconductors and microelectronics exhibition in North America, with an expected attendance of about 10,000 attendees. The official Ontario program would start on the morning of Tuesday, October 7, 2025, ending on the afternoon of Thursday, October 9, 2025. The program will be organized in partnership with the Ontario Trade and Investment Office and the Canadian Consulate in San Francisco. Federal funding (CAN EXPORT) may be available to qualified companies.

Location - Baja California, Mexico

The Government of Ontario, in partnership with Global Affairs Canada, invites you to participate in the Ontario Advanced Manufacturing/Automotive Export Business Mission to CIES: Comunidad de La Industria de Electromovilidad, Electronica y Semiconductor Mexico 2025. (CIES: Electromobility, Electronics & Semiconductor Industry Community). With an additional B2B meetings program and site visits, the Mission seeks to identify and make a diagnosis of the current productive capacities of these technological sectors. Baja California's strategic initiatives in the electromobility and semiconductor industries present a wealth of opportunities for Ontario businesses. The region is particularly strong in electronics, automotive, and medical devices. Space is limited (6 Ontario companies only).

Location - Seoul, South Korea

The Government of Ontario is organizing an ICT and Semiconductor Mission to SEMICON Korea. SEMICON Korea 2026 will showcase advancements in AI, quantum computing, advanced packaging, and sustainable semiconductor manufacturing. The 2025 edition featured over 500 companies and attracted 70,000 visitors. South Korea accounts for 61% of global memory semiconductor market and is investing $470 billion to strengthen its sector and expand into non-memory semiconductor markets.
