The Province of Ontario has awarded the cities of Markham and Vaughan $2.5 million in funding to launch an Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network (OVIN) Demonstration Zone.

About the Project

Through the OVIN Demonstration Zone, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will be able to pilot and demonstrate innovative automotive and mobility solutions, including electric vehicle technologies, shared and integrated mobility solutions, robotics, and connected and autonomous vehicle (CAV) technologies, in a real-world, urban environment.

Technology demonstrations will be conducted in real-world environments using designated space and infrastructure within the cities of Markham and Vaughan enabling potential customers to experience live demonstrations and showcases.

Companies will be able to respond to ongoing calls for applications and submit their innovative automotive and smart mobility technologies and solutions. The application portal and calls for application will launch in the Fall of 2023.
