Silver Touch Technologies is a leading digital transformation player in India, a publicly-listed information technology, consulting, and business process services solutions powerhouse with a team of more than1,500 software engineers and developers. It has worked on large-scale projects with the U.S. and U.K. governments and partnered with key automation players like Automation Anywhere, UiPath, and Microsoft Power Automate.
But when Silver Touch made its first official push into Canada in 2023, it was doing it as a virtually unknown entity, says Adarsh Parikh, associate director of Silver Touch Technologies Canada. So its Canadian headquarters needed to be strategically located – somewhere close to the heart of the printed circuit board, semiconductor and Internet of Things manufacturing ecosystem.
Markham was the perfect fit.
“Markham is a hub for semiconductors,” says Parikh, pointing to IBM and other key players. “It’s a pretty good market in terms of the PCB and IoT segments – we see opportunities.”
Since 1995, Silver Touch Technologies has kept its offerings in step with the market, helping its clients tap into emerging technology like cognitive computing, hyper-automation, robotics, cloud, and analytics. “We have our own data centers across the globe and our own cloud called Silver Cloud,” says Parikh. “Our partners provide us a platform and we develop our own solutions (for clients) on top of those platforms.”
The density of high-tech manufacturers and qualified talent made the Canadian market a strategic expansion for Silver Touch Technologies. Toronto Global, an investment attraction agency, was a key player in getting the business here, says Parikh. Silver Touch Technologies set up a booth at the Collision tech conference in Toronto to help raise its profile. Parikh says being a part of the Markham Board of Trade has helped the business build stronger connections within the community.
Over the next year and a half, Silver Touch Technologies hopes to grow its Markham team to between 30 and 40 people. To Parikh, Markham is also a launch pad to verticals it’s already established in like retail, manufacturing wholesale healthcare and financial services – all opportunities for Silver Touch Technologies to expand with its partnership approach. “We want to grow together,” says Parikh. “That’s the objective… in Canada, we are building our own story from scratch.
