Heavy Copper PCB Manufacturing and Assembly at Bittele Electronics

Feb 06, 2026

Bittele Electronics provides manufacturing and assembly services for heavy copper PCBs, supporting designs that incorporate increased copper thickness on internal and external layers. Heavy copper printed circuit boards are used in electronic applications that require high current capacity, enhanced thermal performance, and long-term reliability under electrically and thermally demanding conditions.

While there is no universally accepted industry definition, printed circuit boards are generally classified as heavy copper when the copper thickness reaches 3 oz per square foot or more on inner or outer layers. Boards with copper weights exceeding 4 oz per square foot are also commonly categorized as heavy copper designs. At the upper end of the range, extreme copper constructions may use copper thicknesses from approximately 20 oz up to 200 oz per square foot.
